St. Lorenzpark, Lübeck

On the brownfield land of a former Bosch service area in Lübeck’s St. Lorenz North district, Matrix realised a district centre with a REWE fresh food store, a PENNY supermarket and a BUDNIKOWSKI drugstore. The range of neighbourhood shops is rounded off by an EASY pharmacy and home accessory and furnishing specialist DAS DEPOT. The development planning procedure gave the outdated commercial space the legal planning basis for a modern neighbourhood shopping centre. And so a new centre that is integrated into the district and accepted by the local population could be realised on the former brownfield land which was beset with a variety of social problems.
