Langenhorner Markt, Hamburg
The „Langenhorner Markt Shopping Centre“ that emerged in the ‘60s and ‘90s, situated in the north Hamburg district of Langenhorn, has a very heterogeneous building and tenant structure in accordance with the respective year of construction. Starting from an excellent location in the district with excellent public transport and personal transport links and a corresponding catchment area, the plan is to demolish some of the existing buildings and supplement them with modern retail space. In the process, the buildings that are to be preserved must be optimised; the diverse tenant-specific requirements will be taken into account and transferred into a valuable overall concept. The goal of this project development is a modern district centre with strong integration into its direct environment.
In the development of Langenhorner Markt, Matrix sees an opportunity to realise a modern district centre. The combination of services, retail and residences, in particular, offers good prospects of responding to the requirements that arise from e-commerce and demographic change.
